wolcots or tomatoes

greetings from thailand. wow... what a flight: by far the longest trip of all time. our flight from japan to thailand was bumby for the first two hours (and by bumpy think six flags roller coaster). coy about got sick, and almost yelled at the man trying to give him dinner. he was having none of that. our efforts to sleep from san francisco to tokyo were thwarted by a somewhat psychadelic ambien episode over the pacific ocean. all i know is i woke up with a full (not drank) beer upside down in my lap. i have no idea where it came from, but i smelled like a bar until this morning. recap: arrived in bangkok at midnight, cleared customs and got a taxi at one am, were 0-2 on finding a place to lay our heads until the magical (or not so magical) diamond hotel. with the help of our good friend, ambien, we were asleep by 3am. breakfast included deep fried donuts, rice and a few unknown dishes with carrots. coy filled a soup bowl with coffee allowing him to power ahead mightily. so we did. tuk tuks, and travel agents followed. we are back at the airport headed out for phuket. from there, we'll trek by long boat to ko phi phi, ko lanta, ko samui, and ko tao in some random order thereafter. then, an overnight train back to bangkok (26th) for a day before flying to siem reap cambodia for two days. we'll be acquiring a laso, some indiana jones hats and a pet monkey before venturing into the fabled angkor wat and angkor tom. fyi - i have a feeling this next flight is on a hang-glider, and i have no hair to feel the breeze.

Glad you guys landed safely. Tell Coy that Jen called me worried about you guys the day you left. Jen, if you're reading this...don't :) Take pictures. Eat crazy things. We're trying on rings tomorrow.

Crap, I just realized that Jen alreaded posted which means she'll read this. Sorry Jen! I'm sure they're avoiding trouble or using their stash of antibiotics to ward off anything in their way.

Take lots of photos guys..... We're glad to hear of your safe arrival!

Stephen Spielberg called and he needs some 'extras' for the jungle scene he is shooting near the 'river gorge of death' this coming Wednesday. Can you reroute your agenda to be there? I've agreed to be your agent, and expect royalties after you complete the waterfall scene.

Yeah for Ambien! I wouldn't recommend using that on the hang gliding portion of your trip however, as I believe that would result in a more traumatic waking-up experience than just having beer in your lap. Glad to hear you're having fun!

I was so glad that you posted to this blogspot. Thanks Mitch for spilling the beans about the phone call. I really think that I am feeling better about this whole trip. Daddy, Alden misses you! I gave her a rockstar spike hairdo after her bath last night. We love you!

Great to hear you guys are there safely! We are thinking about you and wondering what kinds of cool/weird stuff you are doing! I can't believe Mike got sick on a plane. That never happens! When you get back, we will certainly close the garage door and have you reach in and grab your Indiana Jones hat at the last minute. Enjoy! - Matty and Savannah
